1. prepare the cleaning solution 

add 1-2 drops of mild dish soap or neutral soap solution into a basin of clean water and stir well. remember not to use cleaners that contain tea tree oil, are oily, contain bleach, or are highly alkaline, as these can damage the surface. 
 
2. wipe 

use a soft cloth or sponge to dip into the cleaning solution, then squeeze out the excess (until no water drips), and gently wipe the surface of the mat. do not soak the mat in water or allow water to seep into the layers of the mat, as this can cause the material to come apart or become moldy. 
 
3. let it dry 

use another clean, damp cloth (with clean water) to wipe away the remaining foam. spread the mat flat in a ventilated, shady area to air dry naturally. absolutely avoid direct sunlight exposure, as ultraviolet rays can accelerate oxidation, yellowing, and material aging.
